What is “The Heights of the Era?”

The Height of the Era aka THOTE (pronounced THO-tee, rhymes with goatee) brings BIX music back to BIX weekend. The Heights of the Era is a way for us to step back in time while simultaneously stepping forward into our future.

THOTE was created for the community in 2021 as a free, 100% sponsored event, so it can be a fun & carefree experience after a year of loss for many, and a year of worry by all.

The Heights of the Era event brings the best music performed by the best artists from across the contry, to Davenport, Iowa. Music genres include 1910s – 1920s Dixieland, O Brother Where Art Thou style Bluegrass, Swing Jazz, Traditional Irish, Barbershop Quartet, A Cappella.

The Heights of the Era is a family-friendly event with fun for all ages.

For the Kids: Kids’ playground, Hula Hoop, Duck Duck Goose, Hopskotch.

For the Adult Kids: Badminton, Croquet, Hula Hoop, Jump Rope, and of course the music!

Where do I park?

The Heights of the Era is hosted in a vintage neighborhood in the Village of East Davenport where street parking is very limited. We want to be very respectful of the East Village residents so that we are able to host The Heights of the Era at Lindsay Park again NEXT year! 😉 Roads immediately surrounding the park will be closed.

So, we are running continual Shuttle Service all evening from THREE off-site parking locations. Please use them. 😊 Click here for the parking locations & shuttle schedules. Beep beep!
